Yesterday I gave you a little sneak peek into what I've been up to lately. I'm sure you were able to figure out that, between the ugly chair and the colorful shower curtain, the "project" I've been up to lately is of the recovering variety. But before you question my DIY knowhow, let me tell you that there is a method to the madness... the method being that by using a shower curtain to recover my "new to me" dining chairs instead of your typical fabric, any spillage that might (and will) happen will just bead up and not stain the fabric. I know, I know: I'm brilliant. But before you start presenting me with trophies and metals and other kinds of awardage, let me tell you how I actually did it.
First off, the shower curtain itself was not too thick in weight which means that when I went to recover the original fabric (which might I add was heinous), you could still see the ugly fabric's print underneath. So, to fix this little "issue," I just took a white colored top sheet from an old set of sheets and covered the ugliness so I'd have a clean canvas to work off of (here's the link for the actual "how to recover a seat cushion" portion of this all, not like that part matters or anything).

Now if you actually click on that link I just gave you up there, you'll see that unlike those instructions, I opted to cut out the corners of the fabric (in square form) as a means of minimizing the bulk, so to speak. After that, it's time for the real "fun."
PS, my fun was had with this staple gun.
